The black currant (botanical name Ribes nigrum) is a spontaneous shrub which prefers wooded, humid and shady places in the mountainous regions of Asia and central-northern Europe. Ribes nigrum extract has anti-inflammatory properties. Black Currant Oil is obtained from Currant seeds. It is a precious source of unsaturated fatty acids and leads to an increase in prostaglandins with an anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic action.

These characteristics make Currant Oil useful for preserving the integrity and functionality of cell membranes and the trophism and functionality of the skin, preventing dryness and roughness, redness, itching and skin burning.
