Active principles

C vitamin

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin, i.e. it dissolves in water, with antioxidant properties: it helps keep cells healthy by protecting them from the effects of free radicals produced during normal cellular activity. Since vitamin C is not produced by the body and cannot be stored, the right daily dose must be taken through a healthy and balanced diet. Vitamin C has a documented antioxidant activity by virtue of which it reduces lipid peroxidation, oxidative damage to DNA and that to proteins. It is useful in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and has a chelating activity against heavy metals, becoming useful in detoxifying therapies. It can positively influence iron absorption. Vitamin C can play a protective action on eyesight and prevent cataracts.

Vitamin C also contributes to the synthesis of collagen and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and supports the normal functioning of the nervous system and psyche.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E, or tocopherol, is a fat-soluble vitamin, which is accumulated in the liver and therefore it is not necessary to take it regularly through food. The body releases it in small doses as its use becomes necessary. Vitamin E has an antioxidant action which promotes cardiovascular well-being.

Selenium

Selenium is a mineral that is found in very small quantities in the body; it is taken through food and the quantity present in the soil influences the quantity present in foods of plant origin.

Selenium contributes to a normal thyroid function. Together with Zinc, they help protect cells from oxidative stress and keep hair and nails healthy

Beta carotene

Betacarotene is part of the main dietary carotenoids that can act as precursors of retinol.
Carotenoids are red to violet colored pigments found in plants, algae and some bacteria. They are divided into carotenes and xanthophylls. All organisms that depend on solar energy and therefore carry out photosynthesis contain these pigments.

They are therefore called Provitamin A and exert antioxidant activity and prevent lipid peroxidation.

Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme Q10 (or ubiquinol) is a lipid molecule present in organelles called "mitochondria" contained in cells throughout the body, essential for the production of energy. It is particularly abundant in organs such as the heart, liver, kidneys and pancreas, which, being more active, need a greater production of energy.

Coenzyme Q10 acts similarly to a vitamin, supplying cells with energy, with an antioxidant action. Q10 is essential for the production of cellular energy and performs a stabilizing function on the membranes. It can exert neuroprotective, cardioprotective and cytoprotective effects

Bark Pine

Pine bark (Pycnogenol) is a polyphenol obtained from the bark of the French maritime pine, it has an antioxidant action by acting as a scavenger of all forms of free radicals, both nitrogen and oxygen. This is due to their cardioprotective and anti-inflammatory action.

Ribes Nigrum

Ribes nigrum or black currant is a forest fruit belonging to the Grossulariaceae family, well known for its therapeutic properties.

Ribes Nigrum has anti-inflammatory activity contributing to the well-being of the upper airways, joint function and the well-being of the urinary tract. It drains body fluids.
