Active principles
Acetyl carnitine
Acetyl-Carnitine is an amino acid naturally produced by the human body. L-Acetylcarnitine carries out a protective, nourishing and antioxidant action on the cells of the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves (See Nicetile-Alfasigma). It manifests its usefulness in neuropathies from trauma or inflammation of the nervous system. Recent studies conducted on patients with Alzheimer's and senile dementia have demonstrated its role in delaying the progression of the disease, by controlling important cognitive functions such as logical intelligence, verbal memory and selective attention. The possibility of preventing and treating Alzheimer's disease and senile dementia is one of the challenges of modern research which is focusing precisely on the increasingly frequent use of a supplement based on Acetyl L-Carnitine, thanks to its on the cholinergic neural transmission and the ability to improve the neuronal metabolism of the mitochondria. The antioxidant properties of L-acetylcarnitine also serve to preserve correct cardiac function. Due to its strong antioxidant activity, it can be used in anti-aging nutritional strategies and in the protection of oxidative damage induced by intense physical activity.
Vitamin B1
Vitamin B1, or thiamine, is one of the so-called water-soluble vitamins, those which cannot be accumulated in the body, but must be regularly ingested through food. Vitamin B1 serves to ensure normal nerve function and normal heart function.
Vitamin B6
Vitamin B6, also known as pyridoxine, is a water-soluble vitamin due to its ability to dissolve in water. It cannot be accumulated in the body and, therefore, must be introduced daily with food. Vitamin B6 intervenes in the transformation process (metabolism) of proteins, carbohydrates and fats and contributes to the formation of hemoglobin, a substance present in red blood cells which has the function of transporting oxygen to all tissues. Vitamin B6 is important for normal brain development, for stimulating brain function and for keeping the entire nervous system and body's defense system (immune system) healthy. It is essential for the synthesis of serotonin, a molecule which, together with other neurotransmitters, helps regulate mood, sleep, appetite, memory and the ability to concentrate.
Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 or cobalamin is a water-soluble (i.e. water-soluble) vitamin. The human body is not able to synthesize it, but it can be obtained from the intake of certain foods or special food supplements. Vitamin B12 is absorbed in two stages: it is first broken down by hydrochloric acid in the stomach and then recombines with a protein, called intrinsic factor, which allows it to be absorbed in the ileum. Vitamin B12 is found in a wide variety of foods mainly of animal origin, such as meat, fish, eggs, milk and its derivatives, and is resistant to cooking. In particular, clams, liver and kidneys are among the best dietary sources of cobalamin. Additionally, vitamin B12 is contained in some fortified food products, such as breakfast cereals, muesli, and other food products.
Vitamin B12 promotes the functioning of the central nervous system and is involved in the production of red blood cells.
